The Dene Way: History with Knowledge Keeper Mara Nokohoo

Join us for an engaging session exploring the traditional shelters and methods of transportation used by Indigenous peoples in earlier times. Participants will learn about how people lived on the land, the materials and knowledge used to create shelters, and the ways communities travelled throughout the region.
The session will also include sharing local history and lived experiences, offering an opportunity to learn through storytelling, discussion, and cultural teachings. Participants will take part in a hands-on craft connected to the teachings shared during the session.
All ages welcome. No registration required. All materials, snacks, and beverages included.
This program is made possible thanks to the Government of Canada’s Canadian Heritage – Pathways to Language Funding.
