History

Nistawoyou Association Friendship Centre (NAFC) was incorporated on September 17, 1964, accepted into the Native Friendship Centre Association on February 1972 and incorporated as a not for profit society in 1974. Its base of operations is the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, which includes the communities of Fort McMurray, Fort Chipewyan, Fort MacKay, Anzac, Janvier and Conklin. The NAFC is dedicated to the development of social and recreational activities of our community.  Our mission is to promote and encourage better relationships between Indigenous and Non-Indigenous peoples in our community and act as a liaison between the people of Indigenous background and government, voluntary agencies, industry and other groups.
